Recognition of male and female principles are given symbolic form in the shape of stylized antelope headdresses worn and vigorously danced by young male recognized for their farming abilities. This ceremony is the time for the appearance of Chi-Wara, the large roan antelope danced in male and female pairs that generally represent the spirit of Chi-Wara. There are local substyles of Chi-Wara that are more abstract or give other non-antelope forms.
