Additional Information: This slingshot reflect the artistry, power, and authority of the West African sculptor, as it was he who also carved the well-known wooden sculptures used by the people. On this example the handle is decorated with a representation of abstracted figures. Slingshots like this one were used by youth on rodents and birds, providing food.
