The "Wedding Beads," crafted in the 1950s in the Czech Republic, were designed for trade in Africa. They gained popularity for their diverse shapes, colors, and patterns, including round tear drops, flat teardrops, flat tabular shapes, and stylized claw shapes, among others. Though initially created for African trade, they began being exported to the US and Europe in the 1980s, captivating buyers with their variety and unique designs.

This strand is not intended to be a ready-to-wear necklace. Although the strand can be worn "as is," the string holding it together is not durable and may break with use. For this reason, we recommend that you restring the beads before wearing them.
