Additional Information:  Young girls used to play with dolls like this one. These dolls are said to have the power to insure the fertility of these girls after their marriage. Gourd dolls like this one are also found among the Sotho of Lesotho.Tanzanian tribal art is less researched and published than Western and Central art.
